Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 2014 Nov 10

My plane left Bangkok last night at 7 PM, and touched down two hours later, plus one time zone, at Kuala Lumpur International.

Immigration was very easy, didn't even have to fill out the redundant arrival/departure forms.

Walked to the express rail terminal, bought an $11 ticket to the city center, and arrived 40 minutes later. From there, I shared a taxi with a local guy I was chatting with on the train ride over, he generously covered the taxi fare.

Walked another short distance, finally to my hotel at midnight. Then back out to buy an outlet converter ($3) so I could charge my phone.

Today I went on an all-day site-seeing tour. First stop was the Petronas Twin Towers. I wanted to go to it's observation deck, but front-desk security said it was closed on Monday's.
So, I walked a mile further to the KL Tower and went to it's, even higher, observation deck ($15).
Too hot to walk any further, so I bought a ticket for the KL Hop On Hop Off City Tour Bus ($13.50). It's route passes 23 main attractions.
Hopped Off briefly for pictures at the Royal Palace.
Hopped Off again for the highlight of my day, KL Bird Park, "Worlds LARGEST Free-flight Walk-in Aviary" ($14). Ate lunch here at Hornbill Restaurant & Cafe ($8), then played with the birds for two hours.

Hopped back On the bus and completed the tour. Back to hotel room by 6 PM - exhausted.

Booked a flight to Bali, Indonesia for tomorrow afternoon ($105).
